Rachel Vijayaraj is a partner of Brown Wright Stein, with over 15 years' experience in advising private clients as well as heading up the charity and not-for-profits practice.
Rachel is passionate about building strong relationships with clients and translating complex legal matters into clear, actionable guidance. Working collaboratively with accountants and financial advisors enables Rachel to provide practical and wholistic advice to individuals and family groups on:

tax-effective philanthropy
commercial, tax, trust and estate planning advice in relation to family law separation, working in conjunction with their family law advisors
In her not-for-profit practice, Rachel frequently advises philanthropists, institutions, charities and their advisors on:
establishing private ancillary funds and public ancillary funds
structuring advice for start-up charities (public companies limited by guarantee, incorporated associations, charitable trusts)
entitlement to income tax exempt status and deductible recipient status eligibility
registration and compliance requirements with the ACNC, ASIC, ATO and/or NSW Fair Trading
duty and land tax concessions
corporate governance.
Rachel is a member on various Tax Institute committees including the Not-for-Profit Intensive and Noosa Intensive and is a regular speaker at Tax Institute events.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys a good game of touch football and is a keen member of the BWS touch footy team. Rachel also loves travelling with her husband and daughter to exotic beach locations.
