Amanda Comelli joined Brown Wright Stein as a lawyer in our commercial, estate planning and tax practice in January 2013.  Before joining our firm, she worked at a law firm on the South Coast of New South Wales for four and a half years.

Amanda is an Accredited Specialist in Business Law and has extensive experience in a range of commercial and estate planning matters, and likes to keep her practice broad, to give clients well-rounded legal and practical advice. Her areas of speciality include: 

  • business sales, mergers and acquisitions;

  • business succession planning including shareholder and other stakeholder agreements and buy/sell agreements;

  • business structuring;

  • employee share schemes;

  • general contract drafting and reviews;

  • intellectual property;

  • trusts and general tax advice;

  • Personal Property Securities Act;

  • competition and consumer law;

  • wills and estate planning, including testamentary trusts;

  • corporate governance; and

  • commercial and retail leasing.

Amanda has acted for a range of clients including accountants,  financial planners,  retailers, business owners, manufacturers, individuals (including high net worth individuals),  not-for-profit organisations and both private and public companies.

Amanda is a solicitor member of the Salvation Army.

Amanda is actively involved in her local community helping teach at karate schools and as a committee member on her local agricultural society. She also enjoys delivering presentations to other business advisors and community groups.

Outside of work Amanda enjoys travelling and karate, and combines the two as a member of the Australian Shinkyokushin karate team.  She also speaks moderate Indonesian and loves spending time at the beach.
