With more than 15 years' experience as a business lawyer, Amanda Comelli provides commercial and corporate law, tax law and estate planning advice to businesses and business owners.

Reflecting her standing and expertise in business law, Amanda is the Chair of the Business Law Specialist Accreditation Committee with the Law Society of New South Wales, and also an Accredited Specialist in Business Law herself.

Amanda likes to keep her practice broad, to provide her clients with well-rounded and practical legal advice.  Her experience includes assisting clients in the areas of:

  • business sales, mergers and acquisitions;

  • business succession planning, including shareholder and other stakeholder agreements and buy / sell agreements;

  • business structuring;

  • employee share schemes;

  • general contract drafting and reviews;

  • intellectual property;

  • trusts and general tax advice;

  • Personal Property Securities Act;

  • wills, estates and estate planning, including testamentary trusts;

  • corporate governance; and

  • commercial and retail leasing.

Amanda has acted for a range of clients including both private and public companies, accountants, financial planners, retailers, business owners, manufacturers, individuals (including high net worth individuals) and not-for-profit organisations.

She is also a founder of the Women in Tax Discussion Group which is hosted monthly by Brown Wright Stein, as a forum for female tax professionals to meet and discuss recent key changes in tax law in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys travel, fitness and spending time with her family.  She has also represented Australia in a number of international karate tournaments!
