Madelaine Inglis is a Partner of Brown Wright Stein Lawyers and leads our Elder Law practice. She is a trusted adviser for older people and their families being one of Sydney's most experienced lawyers in the area of Elder Law. With more than 30 years' experience, she is dedicated to helping older Australians and their families navigate the legal, financial and personal challenges that often arise later in life. Madelaine is known for her practical, compassionate and client-focused approach. She understands that decisions involving ageing, capacity, healthcare, asset protection and succession planning can be complex and emotionally challenging. She works closely with clients, their families and their trusted advisers to develop solutions that protect personal autonomy, financial security and family relationships.

Madelaine is particularly passionate about protecting the rights, dignity and independence of older people. She regularly advises on issues involving financial abuse, capacity concerns, family conflict and the management of affairs for vulnerable individuals, providing clear guidance during what is often a difficult and stressful time.

In addition to her Elder Law practice, Madelaine advises clients on estate planning and succession matters more broadly, helping individuals, families and business owners preserve wealth and achieve orderly intergenerational transfers of assets.

Madelaine also brings extensive experience in franchising, commercial and property law. She has advised both franchisors and franchisees on franchise structures, compliance, business acquisitions and disposals, leasing and property-related matters. Her property experience includes acquisitions, development projects, construction, leasing and property management, finance arrangements and asset protection structures for individuals, investors, developers and commercial enterprises.

Madelaine serves on the Board of Directors of Windgap Foundation Limited, a public benevolent institution which provides a wide range of services to people with intellectual disabilities and their families. This role reflects her long-standing commitment to advocating for vulnerable members of the community and promoting their wellbeing, inclusion and independence.
