Dean Schubert joined Brown Wright Stein Lawyers in October 2013 as a lawyer in the Workplace Relations and Safety team.

Dean is a Law Society of New South Wales Accredited Specialist in Employment and Industrial Law.

Dean provides advice, assistance and representation to clients including small and medium sized businesses and national and international premium retail brands on a broad range of employment related issues:

  • Restructures and redundancies;

  • Employment and independent contractor relationships;

  • Contractual and statutory entitlements;

  • Performance and separation management;

  • Workplace policies and procedures;

  • Unfair dismissal, general protections, anti-bullying and discrimination (including sexual harassment) matters;

  • Award interpretation and compliance;

  • Underpayment of entitlements claims;

  • Workplace investigations; and

  • Work health and safety compliance and SafeWork investigations.

Prior to joining Brown Wright Stein, Dean worked as a solicitor at a specialty workplace law firm and Fair Work Australia (now, the Fair Work Commission) as an associate to a presidential member.

Dean focuses on providing his clients with practical and effective solutions to minimise risks and costs associated with workplace legal issues. He enjoys building a relationship with his clients so he can properly understand their unique needs and operational circumstances in order to provide efficient, pragmatic and cost effective advice.

Outside of work Dean enjoys travelling, catching a movie and playing tennis.
