We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to join our thriving team for a fixed term maternity leave contract. Reporting into the Managing Partner, you will manage all of the firm's internal finance functions including budgeting, modelling and forecasting. In addition to the financial duties of this role, you will provide high level operational support to the wider team, and lead the day-to-day activities of a number of direct reports and outsourced functional areas. This is an opportunity to work 4 to 5 days per week over a 15 month period.
The successful candidate will be responsible for
Management of internal finance functions, including but not limited to; preparing financial reports, budgets, modelling and forecasts
Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements e.g. tax and BAS returns
Overseeing daily operational requirements such as repairs, maintenance contracts and basic services
Assessing business environment and taking action to mitigate changes or issues that may arise
Assist in the planning and updating of organisational policies, standards, procedures and objectives
Consulting and informing staff on matters such as operating methods, resourcing, finance, administration and human resources
Participating in senior management meetings including Equity Partner and all Partner meetings
Guiding and managing administration staff in day-to-day activities to ensure organisational goals are achieved
Supervision and management of administration and finance teams
Providing support to the Managing Partner and assisting in making general firm decisions
Developing and implementing key projects, such as Firm intranet and "paper light"
Your skills, experience and attributes will include
A minimum of 5 years years in a similar CFO or General Manager role
Prior experience within the legal industry or professional services (essential)
Sound knowledge of finance, HR, IT and administration management
Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels
Self-motivated and able to manage diverse stakeholders and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy
Strong leadership skills with experience in developing a team
Degree qualified
