John joined Brown Wright Stein in September 2011 as an Employment Law Paralegal. He has over 5 years experience as an Employment Law Solicitor in the UK and is currently taking the required exams with the Admission Board to enable him to be admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales.

Prior to qualifying as a solicitor in the UK John completed his training contract with an international law firm in London working in the firm's commercial disputes group and property department. John's training also included a 6 month secondment at a major European gaming and leisure group advising the various companies within the business.

His experience since qualification has involved providing legal advice on both contentious and non-contentious matters for a wide range of clients.  He has acted for both claimants and respondents in unfair dismissal, breach of contract, equal pay and discrimination claims.

John has advised on individual and collective redundancies, disciplinary and grievance processes as well as issues of performance management and long term sickness absence. John also has extensive experience in advising on and drafting executive service agreements, employment contracts, consultancy agreements, compromise agreements and employment policies.

John experience includes High Court litigation to enforce post termination restrictions and database rights.

Outside of work John enjoys catching up with friends, playing and watching sport and keeping up with the latest current affairs.  He has travelled throughout South and Central America, the Middle East, Asia and Europe.
